A Local Investment Chosen by You

The Local Option Sales Tax is a one-cent tax approved by Escambia County voters that funds local projects—from roads and drainage to parks and public safety. It can only be used for specific, community-approved projects and must be renewed by local voters every ten years.

Escambia County voters have approved the penny every time it’s come up for renewal over the past 34 years because they can see where the money goes. And it’s done more than build roads. Sustained voter support has allowed the County to make needed improvements while offsetting significant increases to property taxes.
